About
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Chautauqua, Inc. is a ten-week summer congregation affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association. Many of our members have other UU affiliations but also support this Fellowship. We also welcome “friends of the Fellowship” who may or may not be affiliated with another religious organization. Membership is open to all.
MissionThe purpose of this fellowship is to provide a community at Chautauqua wherein liberal religious thinking is fostered. Though we may be separated in time and in space, yet shall we be united together in spirit and in purpose.

A Welcoming congregation
The UU Welcoming Congregation Program is a voluntary program for Unitarian Universalist congregations that want to take intentional steps to become more welcoming and inclusive of people with marginalized sexual orientations and gender identities. For several years we have hosted the weekly meeting of the Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays which has taken place at the UU House on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. We will continue our support for PFLAG.
Beginning with the 2017 season the Fellowship became the sponsoring organization of the LGBTQ and Friends Community. Beginning with the 2021 season the Community became an independent Community Group. The Fellowship will continue to support the LGBTQ and Friends Community and offer any assistance required to make their initiatives and programs as successful as possible. The Community conducts a meet and greet on the porch of the Athenaeum Hotel on Sunday evenings and a discussion series on a weekly topic at Alumni Hall on Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. To learn more about the Welcoming Congregation Program, visit uua.org/lgbtq/welcoming. |
