by Roger Doebke Welcome to our newly designed website. Our purpose is to provide you with more information in a timely fashion that will improve your experience next time you attend Chautauqua’s summer season. We expect to return to a normal schedule of events for the summer of 2022. We have invited ten outstanding ministers of the week and will resume our Sunday assembly in the Hall of Philosophy at 9:30 AM on Sundays each week where our music director, Kay Barlow, and outstanding guest soloists will help bring our service to life. The UU Ethics Week series will resume during week three this summer with lectures each day at 9:30 AM in the Hall of Philosophy as well. We are very excited about the launch of our Humanism Initiative which will be led by John Hooper. An introductory program will be offered at the UU House each week. John will also be leading an outreach program to other denominational houses interested in Humanism. Many UU congregations have a contemplative element within their programming, usually related to the Buddhist tradition. Included in our programming this coming summer will be information about the Mystic Heart Meditation program at Chautauqua which features a teacher each week from a different Buddhist teaching. During week five we will also be hosting Dr. Ed Bastian, a renowned Buddhist academic, who will lead a variety of programs for those interested in developing a contemplative practice. I look forward to seeing each of you this summer when we will have the opportunity to make new friends and renew old ones.
